Description: The visual experience from the clubhouse at Olympic View is typically West Coast stunning. The stylish building just out over the first hole, looks out to the Olympic Mountain peaks. Bedsides the scenery, one of the first things you notice when entering the clubhouse is the photo of Tiger Woods taken when the young prodigy played the course in 1994. His face is lit up with the trademark, sublime grin - and why not? He was in the middle of his run of U.S Amateur championships and had just finished playing a great round at a great course.
The good news is that you don't have to play like Tiger to enjoy your round here. Olympic View is sprinkled with fun risk/reward holes. If you're feeling good, try to bust it across the hazard. If you're feeling smart, lay up in the landing zone and go for par. A great example is the twelfth hole, a 335-yard par four. From an elevated tee, players look out to a fairway that is almost all water. Gamblers will attempt to smack it 210 yards over the water to favour a short approach shot. Players who don't like those odds will hit a mid-iron club 170 yards to a more generous patch of fairway on the left. The seventeenth hole is all reward. The 417-yard par four begins from an elevated tee. Off to the left is one of the most tranquil settings you'll ever see on a golf course. A small Japanese garden is tucked next to a pond and surrounded by pine trees. At the back of the green, a sixty-foot waterfall sprays down from the top of the rocks. What you score on the hole is irrelevant.
Olympic View also features some of B.C's top practice facilities and is home to the renowned GBC Academy.
