1. What is ICN?
International Club Network (ICN) is the largest alliance of independent private, public and resort clubs in the world, with more than 300 clubs in 17 countries. About 70 percent of member facilities are golf related. ICN offers two programs, Privileged Play, for daily fee golfers, and Privileged Access, for members of private clubs.
2. How long has ICN been in business?
At the invitation of the Club Managers Association of America, International Club Network (ICN) was organized in 1998. The origins of ICN stem from the difficulty many private clubs have in responding to their members’ desire to visit other private clubs while maintaining the unique environment of their own club.
Privileged Play, ICN’s daily fee program, was launched in March 2004 and is the first program of its kind in Canada. Privileged Play provides club membership to the public player at first class facilities in their local area and throughout North America. The membership delivers great value and benefits. It is a lifestyle and club membership for the public player. It allows the daily fee golfer to enjoy the private club experience without the cost.
3. What is Privileged Play?
Privileged Play is a membership program that allows the daily fee golfer to experience the services, events, and opportunities that have been previously available only to people who are members of private clubs. As a Privileged Play Member, now you can enjoy the same benefits as the private club member - a sense of community, special advantages, and being able to book tee times in advance - for a fraction of the cost of a private golf club membership.
4. What are the benefits of Privileged Play?
The benefits of Privileged Play are significant. Members enjoy privileged access to a growing number of premier daily fee golf facilities, ski resorts, spas, and other first class leisure and travel opportunities throughout Canada at a savings and on preferred basis over the general public.
The golf courses participating in this program offer our Members:
- A 20 percent savings off the posted green fees and cart, ALL day and EVERY day, without restrictions;
- Three-day advance tee time booking privileges ahead of the public, a front-of-the-line benefit;
- One free round of golf with cart. (Each member receives one certificate each year, good at the course of his/her choice, for a free round when accompanied by a full paying guest.)
In addition, Privileged Play Members become part of a community of golfers who enjoy many programs, services, and advantages such as:
- Exclusive Member tournaments.
- Helpful software to obtain a handicap online and track game improvement.
- Informative and entertaining seminars to learn more about the rules of golf, etiquette, and how to do business on the golf course.
- Special offers, social events, and exclusive travel opportunities.
- Exciting and informative ICN e-newsletter sent on a regular basis.

6. How many golf courses does ICN have? Which courses are involved?
Members of ICN’s Privileged Play program have special access to more than 150 exceptional courses and facilities locally and across Canada and the U.S. - see the course list . The course list is growing all the time and currently includes:
- Big Sky, Nicklaus North, and Wolf Creek in Western Canada.
- Angus Glen, Taboo, and Whistle Bear in Ontario.
- The Falcon and Le Géant in Québec.
- Bell Bay, Granite Springs, and Fox Meadow in Atlantic Canada.
7. What are preferred tee time booking privileges?
This means that you are able to book tee times for yourself and your guests three (3) days ahead of the general public. If a participating facility has a booking window of 10 days, it means that you are able to reserve a tee time 13 days in advance.
8. 20% savings on green fees and carts ANY TIME?
Yes, that’s right! 20% off the regular published rate ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, even during prime time. There are no restrictions. This includes weekday, weekend, and twilight rates.
9. I have another coupon. May I combine it with my 20% savings?
We are afraid not. The outstanding 20% savings are not available in conjunction with any other discount, voucher, coupon, or special offer.
10. Do my friends get 20% off when golfing with me?
The Privileged Play savings apply to members of the program only, not your guests. However, by playing with you, your guests would benefit from the 3-day booking privilege in advance of the general public.
11. How do I book my tee time?
- Please feel free to call the golf facility directly. Facility phone numbers are on our website www.PrivPlay.com under “Courses and Experiences”.
- When reserving your tee time, please identify yourself as an ICN Privileged Play member.
- When you arrive at the pro shop, please present your Privileged Play membership card and photo identification.
- Please call ICN if, in the unlikely event, you have a problem in organizing your visit – we would be pleased to help you.
12. What do I need to do when I arrive at the pro shop?
When you arrive at the pro shop, please present your Privileged Play membership card and photo identification.
13. What savings are there at resorts and spas?
The resorts, spas, and ski slopes participating in this program offer similar benefits, such as savings on hotel rooms, spas, and special travel experiences. Please visit our website www.PrivPlay.com regularly to learn more about our latest facilities and special offers.
14. What is the cost of the program?
The one-time initiation fee for the program is only $150. The annual membership dues are just $125. With the free round of golf, the program pays for itself the first time you use it, and Members continue to enjoy savings on golf and other leisure activities throughout the year!
15. When can I use my free round of golf certificate?
The complimentary green fee certificate with cart may be used only when a companion round is purchased at the regular price for use at the same tee times any time during the week and after 11 a.m. weekends and holidays. You must notify the ICN facility in advance. The free round is not available at Angus Glen between May 5 through to October 17.
16. What if I am not a great golfer?
The Privileged Play membership is ideal for you!
- We offer our Members a range of facilities including executive courses for the novice golfer.
- We invite our Members to seminars to learn more about the rules of golf, etiquette, and how to do business on the golf course. This is a must for today's business person who wants to enhance business relationships through golf.
- Our Members are able to improve their game, obtain a handicap online, set goals, and use the tools of our club to reach them, including tracking every stat you can imagine.
17. Are there any courses for beginners or where my whole family can play?
Privileged Play offers its Members a lot – there is something for everyone from the novice to the experienced player.
- Cardinal Golf and Country Club in Newmarket has the Kettle Creek course which is executive length.
- Mill Run Golf and Country Club in Uxbridge has the Highlands course.
- The Oakville Sports Dome has an outside pitch and putt.
18. Are there different fees for juniors?
The Privileged Play program is great for the junior golfer. We have kept the fees so low and the junior golfer gets the same benefits as an adult. For only $89, a Member can sign up his/her child for a Privileged Play membership.
19. Does the 20% off apply to Senior's Rates?
The Privileged Play membership is to give avid golfers the benefit of discounts off regularly posted golf green fees at great courses across Canada. Our courses are prepared to offer our members this incentive as a way to build loyalty at their course. It is the natural approach of a course to use discounts to attract various patrons, like they do with seniors. In their view, giving a discount on seniors rates is really giving a discount on an already discounted rate and they are not prepared to do that.
20. What if I have not received my Welcome Kit yet?
You should receive your Welcome Kit very soon, depending on when you signed up. Our orders are fulfilled on a weekly basis. To be on the safe side, you should expect the kit within two weeks. In the meantime, we encourage you to sign onto our website www.PrivPlay.com and activate your membership. If you would like to golf, we would be pleased to make arrangements for you.
